For California: California Food Handler Card Requirement
A new law has been passed to increase food safety competence and awareness in California - Senate Bill (SB) 303, this new requirement is called the California Food Handler Card and it requires all food handlers to successfully pass a food handler training course and exam with a minimum score of 70%.
Online food safety training obtained from an accredited food safety training program is accepted to meet this requirement.
The California Food Handler Card requirement is additional to the Certified Food Manager requirement that mandates every food establishment
to have at least one certified Food Manager.
